Description – Gita Jayanti marks the day when Lord Sri Krishna spoke the Bhagavad Gita to His dear devotee Arjuna in the middle of the battlefield of, what is still known as Kurukshetra in North India. Traditionally this day is celebrated with chanting of verses from Bhagavad Gita, offering of oblations in fire sacrifices (yajna) and distributing prasad to devotees.
